Procurement Coordinator – Kampala

About the role

The Procurement Coordinator will lead all procurement activities for Raising The Village in Kampala, ensuring timely acquisition of goods and services within budget and in line with established procedures. This role supports project teams by providing efficient, transparent, and compliant purchasing services.

Key responsibilities

• Execute procurement of goods and services according to Standard Operating Procedures and program work plans.
• Prepare, maintain, and electronically file all procurement documentation (purchase requests, RFQs, bid analyses, purchase orders, contracts, tender documents) for audit purposes.
• Oversee and optimise the use of ERP platforms for tracking, reporting, and documentation, ensuring data integrity.
• Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual procurement performance reports and monitor KPIs such as lead time, supplier performance, and compliance rate.
• Conduct supplier performance evaluations, identify risks, and recommend mitigation measures.
• Ensure compliance with donor regulations and external audit requirements.
• Develop consolidated procurement plans aligned with program designs and negotiate pricing and supply contracts.
• Maintain updated price lists and strategic relationships with key suppliers.

Required profile

• Minimum 3 + years of experience in procurement or purchasing, preferably in the NGO or development sector.
• Strong knowledge of procurement policies, donor compliance, and audit requirements.
• Proven ability to manage supplier relationships and negotiate contracts.
• Excellent organizational and documentation skills.
