Teacher Coach – Early Childhood Education (Mayuge, Uganda)

About the role

Enjuba is seeking a full‑time Teacher Coach to work on‑site in Mayuge District. The Coach will build teacher capacity, improve classroom instruction, and support the delivery of Enjuba’s Early Childhood Learning Program using child‑centered, play‑based methodologies.

Key responsibilities

• Visit classrooms weekly to support teachers in creating engaging, age‑appropriate lesson plans aligned with Enjuba’s curriculum.
• Model and promote active, inclusive, child‑centered learning environments.
• Guide teachers in effective phonics, storytelling, and play‑based learning techniques.
• Observe, document, and analyze teacher and learner progress, identifying gaps and co‑creating improvement plans.
• Build strong relationships with teachers, headteachers, community stakeholders, and district officials to ensure program quality.
• Collaborate with fellow teacher coaches and curriculum specialists to share best practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or Primary Education.
• 3–5 years of hands‑on early childhood classroom teaching experience.
• Demonstrated understanding of child and brain development and developmental milestones.
• Experience in teacher coaching, mentoring, or school leadership, preferably in rural settings.
• Strong knowledge of early literacy, phonics (explicit systematic synthetic phonics), and numeracy.
