About the role
The district seeks a full‑time Agricultural Science teacher to deliver horticulture and floral design instruction to grades 9‑12. The role supports student growth academically, emotionally, physically and socially while preparing them for industry certification.
Key responsibilities
- Teach assigned classes on horticulture and floral design, following Texas Education Agency guidelines.
- Develop, adapt and implement curriculum plans, lesson materials and assessments.
- Provide extended learning opportunities for students to meet industry certification hour requirements.
- Supervise extracurricular activities, including FFA leadership events and supervised agricultural experience projects.
- Maintain accurate records, reports and student progress documentation.
- Collaborate with staff on instructional goals, participate in faculty meetings and serve on committees.
Required profile
- Bachelor's degree from an accredited university.
- Valid Texas teaching certificate, eligibility for alternative certification, or local teaching permit.
- Documented work experience in horticulture and floral design per Arlington ISD guidelines.
- Ability to travel using district agricultural equipment as needed.
Required skills
- Expertise in horticulture and floral design practices.
- Proficiency with instructional technologies for classroom delivery.
