Branch Manager – Iganga

About the role

WATU, an asset‑focused FinTech driving financial inclusion across Africa, is looking for a dynamic Branch Manager to lead its Iganga branch. You will be responsible for overseeing daily operations, driving loan growth, and ensuring excellent service delivery to our customers.

Key responsibilities

• Act as the face of WATU in the Iganga territory, building strong relationships with Boda Boda associations, police, city council, URA and local motorbike dealers.
• Allocate work, supervise staff, conduct performance appraisals and foster a harmonious work environment.
• Achieve loan intake targets, ensure loan processing within two hours, and manage credit‑risk assessments and portfolio quality.
• Oversee the full loan lifecycle, from client onboarding to query resolution and final logbook issuance.
• Maintain accurate product marketing materials at the branch and conduct customer satisfaction surveys.
• Manage branch resources, petty cash, and cost‑efficiency initiatives while ensuring timely payment of bills.

Required profile

• Proven experience in branch or retail operations management, preferably in finance or asset‑based lending.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with the ability to engage local authorities and business partners.
• Excellent people‑management capabilities, including staff supervision and performance evaluation.
• Results‑driven mindset with a focus on meeting targets and improving operational efficiency.
