Community Mobilizer Volunteer for Startups Harambe Run

About the role

This part‑time, on‑site volunteer position starts immediately and runs through the event day on Sunday, 29 November 2026. It supports the Startups Harambe Run in Kampala and at partner university dispatch points, with volunteers placed in one or more of six specialised tracks.

Key responsibilities

• Mobilise and engage entrepreneurs, students, investors and the wider community for the Run.
• Create, distribute and manage campaign content across social media platforms.
• Support ticket, kit sales and sponsorship conversations to raise funds.
• Coordinate logistics with the organising committee and ensure smooth event execution.
• Lead warm‑up and training sessions, guide participants on the route, and manage crowd safety on event day.

Required profile

• Enthusiasm for community building and events.
• Strong organisational and communication abilities; can work independently and within a team.
• Physical fitness for Workout Trainer and Run Marshal tracks.
• Interest in entrepreneurship, startup ecosystems and investment awareness.
• Any relevant qualification in Marketing, Communications, Business or related fields is an advantage.
