Finance & Operations Lead

About the role

The Finance & Operations Lead will guide Mtindo’s transition from a founder‑led startup to a process‑driven enterprise. You will design a manual prototype of business logic, unit economics and operational workflows to prepare the organization for an ERP implementation and build a scalable financial engine that supports Mtindo’s social impact.

Key responsibilities

• Own the financial roadmap, identify margin levers and capacity optimisation for long‑term commercial viability.
• Implement a batch‑level costing framework covering material utilisation, labour efficiency and factory overheads.
• Develop and manage an integrated manual system (BOM, production planning, inventory) to stress‑test business logic before digitisation.
• Lead ERP vendor selection, define functional requirements and oversee implementation.
• Standardise SKU definitions, vendor data and historical cost records to ensure ERP‑ready data.
• Implement rigorous inventory tracking, optimise working capital and maintain cash‑flow health.
• Produce monthly executive management packs with product‑line profitability, pipeline analysis and cash‑flow forecasts.
• Maintain audit‑ready financial records for investors, lenders or external auditors.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance or Accounting with CPA or ACCA certification.
• 5–10 years of financial management experience in an SME production environment, preferably apparel or textiles.
• Proven track record of building financial processes and driving operational self‑sufficiency.
