Key Account Manager (Sales) – Logistics

About the role

AGL, Africa Global Logistics, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is looking for a permanent, full-time Sales Key Account Manager in Kampala, Uganda. The role manages key client accounts, drives business growth and works closely with Operations, Customer Service and Finance.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and profile client accounts by performance, value and potential, and generate periodic reports
• Identify the key clients' needs and deliver first-class service, resolve disputes and run account reviews to retain clients
• Develop pricing structures for key clients and conduct account reviews
• Run regular customer satisfaction surveys and adapt strategies to changing market trends
• Visit target prospects and generate weekly sales reports for management
• Work with Operations, Customer Service and Finance, and take part in planning meetings to match customer needs with operational capacity
• Support CRM implementation by logging interactions and updating pipeline stages
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on pipeline, conversion rates and customer activity, and track TEU volumes, gross margin and account retention

Required profile

• Minimum undergraduate degree; a master's in marketing and CIMA are advantages
• Preferred: 5 years of related sales experience in logistics or freight forwarding
• Knowledge of the freight industry
• Entrepreneurial, results-driven and strategic, with a customer-focused partnership mindset
