Part Time Teacher of French (IGCSE/IBDP)

About the role

We are seeking a part‑time French teacher to deliver the IGCSE and IBDP curricula at an Aga Khan school in Uganda. The successful candidate will create a supportive classroom environment and guide students to achieve strong examination results.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver daily French lessons aligned with IGCSE/IBDP syllabi, preparing students for exams and fostering critical thinking.
• Maintain a safe, orderly classroom, monitor attendance and appearance, and uphold the school’s behaviour and counselling policies.
• Assess student work, set and mark homework, moderate examinations, and produce term reports on schedule.
• Engage with parents through conferences and informal discussions to discuss student progress.
• Participate in school‑wide activities, clubs, and professional development workshops.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field with a PGDE.
• Minimum five years of teaching experience in French at IGCSE or IBDP level.
• Registered graduate teacher with the Ministry of Education and Sports.
• Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary teaching methodologies and curriculum implementation.
