Regional Finance Director

About the role

The Asante Africa Foundation seeks a senior finance professional to lead financial management across its East African operations, overseeing Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and consolidation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports for three countries, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
• Manage treasury functions, cash‑flow planning, liquidity, foreign‑currency exposure and wire‑transfer approvals.
• Lead annual budgeting, periodic re‑forecasting and grant financial management, aligning budgets with workplans and donor requirements.
• Coordinate external audits, maintain audit readiness and implement audit recommendations.
• Strengthen finance systems, standardise processes, drive automation and mentor country finance teams.
• Provide regional oversight and people‑management for finance staff, supporting recruitment, performance and development.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or related field; professional qualification such as CPA, ACCA or CA required.
• Minimum eight years of progressive finance experience, including at least three years in a multi‑country or regional role.
• Experience in nonprofit, donor‑funded or multi‑country operations is strongly preferred.
• High ethical standards, strong judgment and ability to communicate financial information clearly.

Required skills

• Advanced Microsoft Excel.
• Proficiency with finance/accounting systems.
• Knowledge of IFRS, taxation or nonprofit financial management (advantageous).
