Senior Sales Lead – Modern Trade FMCG

About the role

The Senior Sales Lead will head the Chinese Food sales team, driving growth within the Modern Trade channel for a leading HR and BPO consultancy’s client. Based in Bugolobi, Kampala, the role focuses on expanding market penetration, building strong relationships with supermarkets and retail outlets, and achieving sales targets.

Key responsibilities

• Lead, coach and motivate the Chinese Food Sales Team to meet business objectives.
• Develop and execute sales and growth strategies for the Modern Trade channel.
• Establish and nurture relationships with key supermarket chains, distributors and retail partners.
• Achieve monthly, quarterly and annual sales targets and monitor performance.
• Identify new business opportunities to increase product visibility and market share.
• Track competitor activities, market trends and customer insights to inform strategy.
• Prepare accurate sales forecasts, reports and performance updates for management.
• Collaborate with internal teams to ensure product availability and customer satisfaction.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Sales or related field.
• Minimum 5 years proven experience in Modern Trade sales within the FMCG food sector.
• Demonstrated ability to lead high‑performing sales teams.
• Track record of driving business growth and meeting sales targets.
• Strong experience managing key accounts, supermarkets and retail outlets.
