Senior Standards and Compliance Officer – Journalism & Communication

About the role

The Senior Standards and Compliance Officer will lead the development, implementation and monitoring of national TVET standards and compliance systems, ensuring that training providers meet the requirements of the TVET Act, 2025. The role involves conducting audits, inspections and providing technical guidance to institutions and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Support the development, validation and periodic review of national TVET standards for institutions, programmes, trainers and facilities.
• Plan and conduct institutional audits, compliance assessments and inspections, documenting findings and recommending corrective actions.
• Assist TVET providers with self‑assessment, quality‑assurance frameworks and improvement plans.
• Engage industry stakeholders, conduct capacity‑building workshops and promote understanding of compliance obligations.
• Maintain accurate records, generate compliance statistics and prepare detailed inspection reports.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Journalism or Mass Communication; Master’s degree in a related field is an advantage.
• At least six years of post‑bachelor experience in TVET systems, standards development or quality assurance, with three years in a supervisory role.
• Strong knowledge of the TVET Act, 2025, competency‑based training and occupational standards.
• High level of integrity, analytical ability and professional judgment.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Basic database management skills.
