Team Leader – Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Dividend, Policy & Systems

About the role

The Team Leader will serve as the central programme representative for the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Dividend Policy & Systems component, overseeing implementation across seven African countries. Reporting to the Programme Director, this senior position ensures that technical assistance, policy, financing and institutional work is delivered on time, on budget and to high quality standards.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate Country Leads in developing annual, demand‑driven technical workplans.
• Oversee programme delivery, financial management and compliance with payment KPIs.
• Monitor progress against log‑frame targets and value‑for‑money commitments.
• Collaborate with the Regional Finance and Operations Manager and Programme Management Unit to ensure robust programme governance.
• Act as the primary point of contact for the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) on strategy and technical matters.
• Provide regular reporting and strategic guidance to senior stakeholders and consortium partners.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in managing multi‑country health or development programmes.
• Proven ability to lead cross‑functional teams and drive results in complex environments.
• Strong understanding of sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) policy and systems.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder‑engagement skills.
