Assistant Director of Basketball Operations & Academy Coach

About the role

Arruda’s Basketball Club is looking for an Assistant Director of Basketball Operations & Academy Coach to support coaching, operations, marketing and business functions. The role is part‑time with a clear pathway to a full‑time career‑accelerator position for candidates who aim to become college coaches, directors of operations or sports entrepreneurs.

Key responsibilities

• Serve as head coach or assistant coach for travel teams across fall, winter and spring seasons.
• Design and lead practices, camps, clinics and academy training sessions focused on player development and team culture.
• Organise leagues, tournaments and camps; manage scheduling, registrations, communications and logistics.
• Support recruiting and staffing initiatives for the club.
• Assist with the club’s social‑media strategy, create graphics, capture photo/video content and update the website.
• Prepare financial reports, track budgets, perform basic bookkeeping and review P&L statements using Microsoft Excel and, when possible, QuickBooks.

Required profile

• Passionate about coaching players of all ages and skill levels.
• Aspiring to build a long‑term career in college or professional basketball, sports administration or entrepreneurship.
• Eager to take responsibility across coaching, operations, marketing and business functions.
• Strong interpersonal skills for building relationships with players, families and community partners.
