About the role
The Uganda Heart Institute is hiring an Associate Consultant in Adult Cardiology in Kampala. The consultant diagnoses and treats cardiovascular conditions in adults, manages patient care plans and leads the cardiology team.
Key responsibilities
- Diagnose and treat cardiovascular adult conditions and implement patient care management plans.
- Conduct ward rounds in the specialty area.
- Participate in training programmes for all health professionals.
- Supervise medical officers, interns and trainees.
- Identify the department's procurement needs for equipment, drugs and other logistics.
- Prepare departmental workplans, budgets and reports.
Required profile
- MB.Ch.B. degree from a recognised university or institution.
- Master of Medicine (Internal Medicine) or equivalent from a recognised university.
- Fellowship training in Adult Cardiology or a Master's in Cardiology from a recognised institution.
- Registered with the Uganda Medical and Dental Practitioners Council and holds a valid practicing licence.
- At least three years of working experience at Medical Officer level.
