Auto Spare Parts Specialist – Kampala, Uganda

About the role

The Auto Spare Parts Specialist will identify, source, price and supply automotive spare parts to customers and workshop technicians in Uganda. The role combines technical knowledge of vehicle systems with strong customer service and supplier management to ensure timely delivery of quality parts.

Key responsibilities

• Identify correct spare parts using VIN, chassis numbers, EPCs and parts catalogues.
• Advise customers and technicians on appropriate parts and alternatives.
• Prepare quotations and process orders accurately.
• Source parts from local and international suppliers, negotiating competitive prices.
• Maintain strong relationships with suppliers and customers.
• Monitor market trends, pricing and product availability.
• Handle customer complaints, warranty claims and incorrect parts issues.
• Coordinate with the workshop to ensure timely parts supply and minimise vehicle downtime.
• Achieve monthly sales and gross profit targets.
• Stay updated on new vehicle models, parts and automotive technologies.

Required profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Automotive Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Technology or related field.
• Minimum 3 years experience in automotive spare parts sales, sourcing or management.
• Strong knowledge of automotive systems and parts for Japanese, European and Korean vehicles.
• Proficiency with Electronic Parts Catalogues (EPCs), VIN/chassis lookup systems and inventory management software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation and customer service abilities.
• Analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word) and ERP/inventory systems.
• Willingness to relocate to Kampala, Uganda.
