Business Development Lead - Imports

About the role

AGL transport & logistics, a multimodal logistics operator part of the MSC Group, is hiring a permanent, full-time Business Development Lead for imports in Kampala, Uganda. The role focuses on growing key client accounts and driving profitable service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Analyse and profile client accounts by performance, value and potential, and produce periodic reports
• Identify the key needs of important clients and deliver first-class service
• Develop and implement a strategy for managing key accounts, including pricing structures
• Run regular customer satisfaction surveys and resolve disputes to retain clients
• Visit target prospects and conduct account reviews
• Generate weekly sales reports and submit them to management
• Work with Operations, Customer Service and Finance teams, and take part in planning meetings
• Support CRM implementation by logging interactions and updating pipeline stages
• Prepare weekly and monthly reports on pipeline performance, conversion rates and customer activity, and track TEU volumes, gross margin and account retention

Required profile

• Minimum undergraduate level; a master's in marketing is an added advantage
• Preferred: 5 years of related sales experience in logistics or freight forwarding
• Preferred: CIMA qualification
• Knowledge of the freight industry
