Compensation and Benefits Officer

About the role

World Vision Uganda is seeking a Compensation and Benefits Officer to administer its compensation and benefit programs in line with the Total Rewards Philosophy. The role ensures accurate payroll, benefits administration, and compliance with Ugandan labour laws and organizational policies.

Key responsibilities

• Implement and manage compensation and benefits plans, providing advisory support to the People and Culture team.
• Conduct market research, compile remuneration reports, and coordinate annual salary reviews.
• Process payroll accurately and on time, handle salary adjustments, and respond to employee queries.
• Ensure statutory compliance for tax, NSSF, PAYE, and provident fund contributions.
• Administer the Provident Fund, including member records, contributions, benefit claims, and regulatory reporting.
• Manage staff terminal benefits, ensuring timely payments and compliance with labour laws.
• Prepare monthly and annual reports on benefits and maintain accurate documentation.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources Management, Social Sciences, Business Administration or a related field; postgraduate qualification preferred.
• At least 3 years of experience managing payroll, staff benefits, and provident funds, preferably in an international NGO.
• Strong numerical ability, high attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Christian faith and active church membership.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English.

Required skills

• High computer literacy with strong Excel skills.
• Experience with payroll software.
