Human Resource Manager – Manufacturing

About the role

The Human Resource Manager will lead the HR function for a manufacturing operation, ensuring the right people, skills, systems and culture are in place to meet production goals. The role covers workforce planning, recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll coordination and compliance across factory and office sites.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement workforce plans aligned with production needs, manage recruitment, onboarding and succession planning.
• Coordinate shift staffing, monitor attendance, overtime and turnover, and maintain accurate employee records.
• Advise management on employee relations, handle grievances, disciplinary cases and union negotiations.
• Create, review and enforce HR policies, ensure compliance with local employment legislation and manage audits.
• Implement performance management frameworks, set productivity targets and oversee performance reviews.
• Oversee payroll inputs, benefits administration and monitor labour costs against budgets.
• Assess training needs, deliver annual training plans and track learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with safety teams to promote workplace health, safety and employee welfare.
• Prepare regular HR reports, manage the HR budget and lead the HR team.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or related field; professional HR certification is a plus.
• Minimum seven years of progressive HR experience, including at least three years in a managerial role within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
• Proven experience in recruitment, employee relations, performance management, payroll and union liaison.
• Strong knowledge of the local employment framework.
