Facilitator & Moderator for Agricultural Projects

About the role

Kilimo Trust is seeking a dynamic Facilitator and Moderator to lead in‑person meetings, workshops and stakeholder dialogues that support its agricultural value‑chain initiatives in Busia, Uganda. This on‑site contract position will ensure sessions are inclusive, productive and aligned with project goals.

Key responsibilities

• Design and prepare facilitation materials for workshops and community meetings.
• Coordinate logistics and communication with project teams, local partners and participants.
• Moderate panel discussions, group work and interactive sessions, managing time and expectations.
• Document outcomes, decisions and action points, and produce clear summary reports.
• Provide feedback to project staff to improve future facilitation activities.

Required profile

• Proven facilitation and moderation experience in workshops, trainings or community meetings.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.
• Interest or background in agriculture, rural development or related East African contexts.
• Ability to plan events, organize logistics and coordinate multiple partners on‑site.
• Fluency in English; knowledge of local languages spoken in Busia is an advantage.
• Diploma or degree in Agriculture, Development Studies, Communication or a related field preferred.
• Previous experience in NGOs or development projects is beneficial.
