Field Officer - Health Systems Strengthening Project

About the role

Catholic Relief Services (CRS) is hiring three Field Officers for the Central, East and West regions of Uganda for an anticipated five-year health systems strengthening project. The project supports the sustainability and resilience of faith-based health services through stronger institutional capacity, better community health financing, improved governance and locally led solutions. The post is open to Ugandan nationals only and is contingent on the project being awarded; applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.

Key responsibilities

• Support coordination and monitoring of project activities at field level so that implementation schedules and quality standards are met.
• Facilitate information sharing among the project team, implementing partners and community participants to strengthen community support networks.
• Support implementation at community, facility, diocesan and district levels, including supervising, mentoring and monitoring Public Service Providers and other community implementers.
• Liaise with community stakeholders and mobilize community leaders, representatives and local government officials to take part in project activities.
• Support capacity-building events for community representatives and coordinate, monitor and report on volunteer activities.
• Compile community-level data and contribute to reports, and help strengthen partner capacity through coaching and mentoring.
• Ensure activities meet CRS quality standards, donor requirements and national guidelines.

Required profile

• High school diploma in Social Sciences, Development Studies, Social Work and Social Administration or a related field; additional education may substitute for some experience.
• 3-5 years of work or volunteer experience in community development and mobilization.
• Bachelor's degree is a plus.
• Fluency in English is required; knowledge of one or more local languages used in the project areas is highly desirable.
• Field-based work in Central, East and West Uganda; no supervisory responsibilities.
