Funded traineeship for young graduates in Political Press & Information

About the role

The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded, up‑to‑six‑month traineeship for recent graduates interested in international relations and diplomatic work. You will join the Political Press and Information Section, supporting the Delegation’s activities and gaining hands‑on experience in research, reporting and communication.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on EU‑Uganda cooperation.
• Draft analytical reports, briefings and meeting summaries.
• Assist in coordinating data and inputs from EU Member States.
• Support the organisation of events and youth‑engagement initiatives.
• Participate in meetings, prepare comprehensive reports and contribute to communication and visibility activities.
• Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Required profile

• Currently residing in Uganda.
• Bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Very good command of spoken and written English.
• Highly motivated, able to work in a multicultural team and take initiative.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
