Funded Traineeship in Political Press & Information (EU Delegation, Uganda)

About the role

The EU Delegation to Uganda offers a funded traineeship of up to six months in the Political Press and Information Section. This position provides a unique opportunity for a recent graduate to gain hands‑on experience in diplomatic work, EU‑Uganda cooperation, and international communication.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct research and analysis on EU‑Uganda cooperation and political developments.
• Assist in drafting analytical reports, briefings, and meeting summaries.
• Support data coordination and consolidation of inputs from EU Member States.
• Help organise events, prepare materials, and provide logistical support.
• Participate in meetings and produce comprehensive reports.
• Contribute to youth engagement initiatives and communication activities.
• Maintain and organise archival records related to EU‑Uganda cooperation.

Required profile

• Resident of Uganda with a bachelor’s degree in political science, social science, economics, communications, history or a related field.
• Less than one year of professional experience after graduation.
• Very good command of spoken and written English.
• Highly motivated, eager to learn, and able to work in a multicultural team.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
• Strong research, writing and analytical abilities.
• Experience managing social media platforms is an asset.
