Head of Sales Network

About the role

Jumia is seeking a Head of Sales Network to lead market expansion across Africa. You will shape entry strategies, build key partnerships and drive growth for the continent’s leading e‑commerce platform.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategic plans for market expansion, identifying new opportunities and defining entry strategies.
• Conduct market research and competitive analysis to assess dynamics, customer needs and regulatory environment.
• Prioritise target markets based on size, growth potential and alignment with company objectives.
• Design and implement market entry plans covering segmentation, distribution, pricing and promotion.
• Establish and maintain relationships with government agencies, industry associations, distributors and strategic partners.
• Collaborate with sales, product, operations and finance teams to ensure coordinated expansion efforts.
• Manage expansion budgets, allocate resources efficiently and track expenses.
• Monitor performance metrics, report progress to senior management and mitigate risks.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Economics or related field; Master’s preferred.
• Several years of experience in market expansion or business development with a proven track record of successful market entry.
• Strong analytical, communication and interpersonal skills.
• Project‑management capability to handle multiple initiatives simultaneously.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Experience with international market expansion, regulatory compliance and cross‑cultural management is a plus.
