IT Senior Internal Auditor

About the role

The role supports the Group Head of Audit in helping the Board and Executive Management protect the assets, reputation and sustainability of the Old Mutual Group. It covers the execution of IT audits across Old Mutual Uganda's business operations, including Investments, Properties, Short-Term and Long-Term Insurance.

Key responsibilities

• Take part in developing and updating the audit plan so assurance stays aligned with business, risk and strategic changes.
• Lead and run IT audits in Uganda and support other East Africa Group entities as assigned.
• Provide independent assurance on major technology risks and evaluate the effectiveness of governance, risk management and controls.
• Deliver audit and advisory work on time using the Group Internal Audit (GIA) methodology.
• Report to Audit and Risk Committees and help prepare Board papers.
• Support financial and operational audit teams with IT expertise and challenge executives to improve IT governance, risk and control culture.
• Contribute to coaching and developmental interventions.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in IT, data science or a related discipline.
• At least seven years of IT audit experience in internal or external audit.
• Professional certifications such as CISA, CISM, CRISC, CGEIT, CEH, CIA or CPA are an added advantage; financial services experience is also an added advantage.
• Strong communication, analytical, problem-solving and influencing skills, able to work independently and manage competing priorities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with data analytics tools and knowledge of continuous auditing.
• Information technology auditing, internal auditing, GRC and regulatory compliance management.
