Regional Manager SME

About the role

Housing Finance Bank (Uganda) is looking for a Regional Manager SME to drive the growth, profitability and retention of its Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises (SME) portfolio in the region. The role covers acquiring new business, managing key client relationships and offering tailored financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the execution of the SME banking strategy in the region to meet targets for assets, deposits, number of customers and revenue, with strong risk management.
• Manage client relationships through regular visits and financial health checks, providing advisory support.
• Nurture a portfolio of high-value SME clients to ensure satisfaction and retention.
• Plan and run SME sales drives and conduct regular sales activities in the region.
• Analyse market trends and competition, and advise the bank on opportunities and risks.
• Deliver regional financial targets and control costs within the agreed budget.

Required profile

• Business degree in finance, commerce, business administration, economics, statistics, management or a related field; a certified banking qualification or Master's degree is an added advantage.
• At least 5 years' experience in banking, including at least 3 years in SME relationship management and sales.
• Strong credit analysis skills and business development abilities.

• Ability to build working relationships across organisational, corporate and cultural boundaries and to make decisions under uncertainty.
