Lead Field Officer – Mbale (Satellite Office)

About the role

Lead Field Officers will head the satellite office in Mbale and oversee all field activities for the Safe Water Now program. Reporting to the Associate Area Coordinator, they will manage field staff, ensure timely chlorine deliveries, maintain water dispensers, and engage with communities and local authorities to sustain safe water access.

Key responsibilities

• Provide leadership and oversight for all activities at the Mbale satellite office and its supported locations.
• Manage Officers, Community Service Assistants (CSAs), and CSA Project Engineers.
• Conduct chlorine delivery, back‑check maintenance, and ensure dispenser functionality.
• Supervise dispenser installations, coordinating masons and field staff with necessary materials.
• Train, mentor, and coach officers, CSAs, and masons in program execution.
• Coordinate community and government engagement to promote program adoption.
• Monitor field performance and provide operational support to achieve sustainable outcomes.

Required profile

• Mid‑level experience (minimum 24 months) in field program implementation or related humanitarian work.
• Proven ability to lead and supervise diverse field teams.
• Strong communication skills for community and stakeholder engagement.
• Willingness to work onsite in Mbale, Uganda.
