Logistics Officer - Coffee Export

About the role

A client of Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is hiring a Logistics Officer to work on site in Namanve, Uganda. The role coordinates the transportation, warehousing and distribution of raw coffee and finished products between farms, processing facilities, warehouses and export points.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and coordinate the transport of green coffee from farms to the processing facility and finished products to warehouses and export points.
• Manage relationships with transporters, clearing agents and freight forwarders.
• Track and monitor shipments to ensure timely delivery and resolve delays or discrepancies.
• Maintain accurate records of stock movements, delivery notes and warehouse inventory.
• Coordinate with the Production and Quality teams on packaging and dispatch schedules.
• Ensure compliance with export documentation, including certificates of origin, phytosanitary certificates and customs documents.
• Monitor fuel usage, vehicle maintenance schedules and logistics costs.
• Conduct periodic stock counts and reconciliations, and prepare logistics and transport reports for management.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of coffee to minimise losses and maintain quality, and comply with health and safety regulations.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration or a related field.
• At least 3 years of experience in logistics or supply chain, preferably in agro-processing or export.
• Knowledge of customs and export procedures is an added advantage.
• Valid driving permit is an advantage.

Required skills

• Strong organisational, planning and negotiation skills.
• Good computer skills, including Microsoft Office and inventory/logistics systems.
