Lubricant Sales Engineer

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, acting on behalf of its client in the oil and gas sector, is recruiting a Lubricant Sales Engineer to work in Uganda. The role drives lubricants sales growth by combining business development with technical expertise, application engineering and customer solutions so that industrial, commercial, transport and institutional customers get optimal performance from the lubricants.

Key responsibilities

• Identify, pursue and secure new industrial, commercial and institutional accounts, deliver sales targets and negotiate supply contracts
• Conduct lubrication audits, oil analysis and equipment surveys, recommend lubricants for engines, hydraulics, manufacturing, transport and mining, and provide after-sales support and troubleshooting
• Train customers' maintenance teams on lubrication practices and support condition monitoring and predictive maintenance
• Build long-term relationships with key decision-makers, handle technical complaints and resolve product application issues
• Provide monthly product demand forecasts, monitor inventory, enforce credit policy and secure timely collections
• Track competitors' products and pricing, maintain a customer and prospect database, and contribute to marketing campaigns, promotions and technical seminars

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Chemical or Industrial Engineering or a related technical field
• Proven track record in industrial/commercial sales and customer technical support
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience in technical sales, lubricants or a related engineering role
• Professional certification in Lubricants, Tribology or Marketing (e.g. STLE, CIM) is an added advantage
