Salesperson - Microfinance Loans

About the role

Platinum Credit Limited, a licensed microfinance company in Kenya offering civil servant, logbook, personal, asset finance, import duty and landlord loans, is hiring a full-time, on-site Salesperson in Kampala. The Salesperson identifies and approaches prospective clients, explains loan products and matches them to suitable financial solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Generate leads and conduct face-to-face sales meetings
• Manage client inquiries and follow up on applications to close deals on time
• Maintain accurate records of client interactions and meet assigned sales targets
• Collaborate with branch and customer service teams to support a positive client experience
• Take part in field marketing, local promotions and community engagement to grow the business

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent in Business, Marketing, Finance or a related field; higher qualifications are an asset
• Previous experience in sales, banking, microfinance or financial services is an added advantage
• Comfortable doing on-site field work in Kampala and surrounding areas, in a performance-driven environment
• Ability to work respectfully and ethically with diverse clients

Required skills

• Sales and negotiation, with the ability to turn leads into loan applications
• Customer service and relationship management, with clear communication and active listening
• Basic financial literacy of lending or microfinance products, preferably in the East African market
• Time management to handle multiple accounts and meet daily and monthly targets
• Proficiency in basic computer applications such as email, spreadsheets and CRM or sales tools
