Maintenance Specialist – Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation

About the role

The Maintenance Specialist will lead mechanical, electrical and instrumentation (MEI) maintenance activities during the commissioning and start‑up phase of the Tilenga Project in Uganda. Reporting to the Preservation / Maintenance Lead, you will ensure safe, efficient and timely execution of maintenance tasks in line with the Commissioning Execution Plan and vendor manuals.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise and perform maintenance, commissioning and start‑up of MEI systems, including alignment of rotating equipment, electrical loop checks and instrumentation calibration.
• Troubleshoot and carry out corrective maintenance on rotating/static equipment, electrical panels and instrumented systems.
• Develop and support preventive maintenance programmes and preservation plans.
• Document all activities in the Systems Completion Database (ICAPS) and manage spare‑parts inventory.
• Coordinate with material management, engineering, operations and commissioning teams to align schedules with project milestones.
• Provide technical input for selection of spares, lubricants and consumables, and mentor junior technicians.
• Prepare and open PTWs, conduct job safety analyses and ensure compliance with safety procedures.

Required profile

• Technical diploma or equivalent in Mechanical, Electrical or Instrumentation Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years of maintenance experience on EPC oil & gas projects.
• Proven ability to lead teams and work collaboratively with client representatives.
