Manager Clearing

About the role

KCB Group is hiring a Manager Clearing in Kampala (Kamwokya). The role covers the end-to-end processing of clearing transactions, reconciliation and reporting, with a focus on accuracy, timeliness and risk mitigation.

Key responsibilities

• Process inward clearing items (cheques, EFTs, direct debits and unpaid items) accurately and on time, within approved system limits and procedures.
• Monitor RTGS transactions on hold and unauthorized transactions, and close transaction exceptions promptly.
• Monitor clearing and RTGS reconciliations so that outstanding items in suspense accounts are closed on time.
• Authorize and remit clearing transactions accurately in Sybrin and KACH systems to avoid regulatory penalties.
• Process transactions in T24, mobile portals, Sybrin, the Direct Credit Engine and Sopra systems accurately and on time to reduce fraud and losses.
• Prepare and submit internal and regulatory reports on schedule, such as NPSM, telecom returns, operational payment statistics, RCSA and contingency returns.
• Action URA third-party agency notices on time to avoid regulatory fines.
• Monitor instant card printing to ensure timely delivery to branches and compliance with controls.
• Monitor BOU running balances so that accounts are funded before payments are approved in SWIFT and RTGS.
• Drive staff performance through leadership, coaching, mentoring and regular performance assessments.
• Maintain up-to-date procedures and guidelines, and identify, mitigate and report risks.
• Manage queries and close ECRM cases according to agreed SLAs.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree.
• Master's degree preferred.
