Savings Area Manager

About the role

The Savings Area Manager leads all regional savings activities for FINCA Uganda, mobilizing savings within their assigned geographic zone and designing and implementing strategies to grow savings. The role coordinates strategic actions to achieve the overall regional savings targets.

Key responsibilities

• Establish institutional savings targets with the Savings Manager and set branch savings targets (clients, volume, usage, cross-selling) with the assigned branch managers, including strategies to achieve them
• Set savings mobilization goals for the technologies in the region with the Alternative Delivery Channels team and the Savings Manager, and create a monthly activity plan with existing and potential savers
• Implement strategies and give guidelines to involve all staff and services in mobilizing savings
• Help the Marketing Department design and run promotional campaigns for savings mobilization
• Supervise savings mobilization in branches through weekly/monthly meetings and periodic joint field work, and submit weekly activity agendas and reports to the Savings Manager
• Submit bi-weekly progress reports and end-of-month achievement reports, recommending actions to improve savings mobilization
• Collaborate with branches on daily and weekly mobilization activities and build business relationships with institutions that could become clients
• Design strategies to increase the savings portfolio and promote savings products, services and distribution channels (POS, Mobile Banking)
• Analyze the market and propose new locations for POS agents, and collect and act on client and staff feedback

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree or diploma in Business Administration, Marketing or another business-related field
• 3 years' experience in savings mobilization and sales and marketing in a financial institution
• Hands-on experience growing a savings portfolio
• Excellent training and coaching skills
• High integrity and ethics; self-motivated, innovative and result-oriented
