Operations and Settlement Manager (FX, Bonds, Digital Assets)

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Operations and Settlement Manager to lead the daily activities of our FX, Bonds and Digital Assets trading desk in Uganda. The role ensures smooth operations, regulatory compliance and effective risk management while supporting the growth of our trading business.

Key responsibilities

• Manage day‑to‑day middle and back‑office operations of the trading desk, monitor market movements and provide market analysis.
• Ensure compliance with local policies and regulatory guidelines for FX, Bonds and Digital Assets transactions.
• Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency, security and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee settlement processes for FX, Bonds and digital transactions, including trade confirmation reconciliation, payment instruction verification and discrepancy resolution.
• Liaise with banks, payment service providers and other external parties to facilitate FX and cross‑border payments/settlements.
• Monitor and manage risk exposure, set limits, track positions and report any breaches or incidents.
• Maintain accurate records of all transactions, reports and audits.
• Train and supervise staff on operational processes and best practices.
• Stay updated on trends and developments in FX and securities markets.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in FX or bond trading (global/Africa) or payments operations, preferably in a lead or manager role.
• Strong knowledge of Uganda’s FX, Bonds and digital banking regulatory environment and market dynamics.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making abilities.
• High level of integrity, professionalism and ethics.
