Pipeline Inspector (Oil & Gas)

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting on behalf of its client SINOPEC for a skilled and experienced pipeline engineer to work at site. The role covers quality assurance and quality control of pipeline and mechanical works.

Key responsibilities

• Help compile the company Quality Plan, Inspection and Test Plan (ITP), Quality Procedures and related QA/QC documentation before fabrication or construction begins.
• Witness and monitor site pipeline and mechanical activities and inspections against the approved plans and procedures, and follow the site QA/QC management system.
• Perform pipeline and mechanical inspection activities with minimum supervision, ensuring ITP stages are followed.
• Review IFC P&IDs, ISOs and vessel drawings so that the correct welding procedure specifications (WPS) are referenced with weld details.
• Monitor piping and mechanical operations, resolve quality issues with workers, subcontractors and the client, and verify that site activities comply with quality codes and standards.
• Coordinate quality inspections with site teams and vendors, run non-destructive testing, inspect materials, weld quality and testing, and identify and control non-conformances (NCRs).
• Witness pressure tests, review radiographic films, compile quality documentation on time, prepare regulatory documents and give feedback to management.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or trained qualification (CSWIP 3.1 / AWS CWI).
• Minimum 10 years' experience in the oil and gas industry on large construction projects, with knowledge of safety regulations, standards and procedures.
• Good knowledge of pipeline codes and standards, TOTAL E&P general specifications and contractors, and international oil and gas codes and best practices.
• Previous Syncrude inspection experience is a must; previous tie-in execution experience is a must.
• Significant responsibility in multi-discipline teams, good interpersonal and organisational skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
• English is mandatory.
