HSE Technician Operations

About the role

Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting on behalf of its client TOTAL ENERGIES for an HSE Technician Operations position at a site in Uganda. The post reports to the HSE Supervisor and works on site.

Key responsibilities

• Ensure the Work Permit System is properly implemented on site and audit its use.
• Deliver HSE inductions and training on site according to the training matrix, and train plant personnel and contractors on HSE issues.
• Maintain the site HSE document registry and HSE documentation, and update the anomaly database and close anomalies.
• Track incidents and suggestions for improvement, prepare reports and trend charts for HSE KPIs, and promote HSE culture and compliance with site objectives.
• Supervise the on-site PPE inventory, take part in emergency drills, and ensure fire systems operate and are available.
• Advise plant personnel and contractors on HSE matters, take part in accident investigations, and help develop site HSE committees.
• Audit HSE facilities and processes, validate hot work and confined space equipment tests, and promote HSE tools such as anomaly cards, stop cards and PTW audits.
• Conduct HSE and technical training, hand over activities at the end of the rotation, and comply with QHSE and social responsibility standards.

Required profile

• Diploma of Higher Education or BTCE, preferably in operational safety or production operations.
• 5 years of professional experience in a similar position.
• Good technical skills in oil and gas.
• Ability to work under pressure and in an international environment; good communication and clear reporting.

Required skills

• Knowledge of TotalEnergies HSE safety rules, SIMOPS, and the PTW system, or equivalent in oil and gas.
• Understanding of significant environmental aspects and environmental emergency preparedness.
