Planning Engineer (Offsite & EPC)

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, a manpower management firm operating across Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan, is recruiting on behalf of its client TOTALEnergies. It is hiring three Planning Engineers (Offsite & EPC) to work on site, with two positions for offsite planning engineers and one for an offsite planning engineer.

Key responsibilities

• Follow HSE rules and requirements in your area of responsibility
• Develop, implement and maintain procedures for scheduling, progress control and reporting
• Define and update a Work Breakdown Structure covering progress, cost and reporting
• Liaise with Cost Controllers and develop, update and revise package schedules, including simulations of new schedules
• Assist Package Management in reviewing contractors' schedules and progress reports, and approve progress measurements
• Analyse what-if scenarios and propose corrective actions when milestones are threatened
• Consolidate Ugandan content man-hours from the package
• Define the monthly report structure and prepare Project Monthly and Weekly Reports as directed by the EPC Project Controls Leader and Services Leader
• Support Package and Construction Management on scheduling and reporting, and report progress and concerns to the Project Control Leader and Lead Planner

Required profile

• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in engineering or construction technology
• Minimum 10 years of project experience, including at least 5 years in planning for Oil & Gas and/or infrastructure projects
• Proactive, independent problem solver who can challenge contractors and internal contacts

Required skills

• Extensive knowledge of MS Excel, MS Project and Primavera
• Strong analytical and reporting skills
• Ability to coordinate with other teams and work on own initiative
