Site Coordinator - Kampala

About the role

A multinational NGO working on health systems in Uganda is looking for a Site Coordinator in Kampala. The role reports to the Project Manager and covers supervision of laboratory infrastructure upgrade work, ensuring it meets international best practices and the specifications in the work plan. The ideal candidate has a strong laboratory medicine background and understands the civil engineering aspects of research and diagnostics laboratories.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise infrastructure upgrade delivery at the assigned site and ensure client expectations are met.
• Make sure tasks are planned, supervised and executed according to specifications, drawings and dimensions, within agreed limits.
• Evaluate the quality of construction materials against the site construction plan and assess quantities against the bill of quantities.
• Ensure specifications are bio-safety level II laboratory grade and that sufficient resources are available for each phase.
• Use project management tools to give daily site updates.
• Follow the eHealth Africa Code of Conduct, be punctual and respectful, and promote a positive team environment.

Required profile

• National Diploma in Medical Laboratory Science/Technology or Building and Construction, or equivalent.
• At least 3 years of related laboratory remodeling, renovation or building experience.
• Necessary practice license.
• Project Management certification is an advantage; ability to read and interpret architectural drawings is desired.
