QC Technician - Coating / Insulation

About the role

Q-Sourcing, a manpower management firm operating across East Africa, is recruiting on behalf of its client TOTAL ENERGIES a QC Technician for Coating / Insulation. The post is based on site, reports to the QC Leader South and sits within the Upstream Project department.

Key responsibilities

• Support the QC Leader on technical inspection issues and ensure inspections comply with statutory regulations and company standards.
• Supervise inspection work and inspect contractors' work quality and delivery, intervening where needed.
• Review and approve contractor documentation and issue and follow up non-conformance and corrective action reports.
• Maintain accurate records, keep inspection staff informed of specifications and codes of practice, and liaise with contractor inspection teams.
• Track non-conformities, report trends and recommend actions to the QC Leader and project team.
• Report activities that could affect schedule and cost, and compile daily, weekly and monthly reports.
• Take part in daily, weekly and monthly meetings and carry out any other assigned tasks.

Required profile

• HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience, preferably in oil and gas, petrochemical or refining, with knowledge of painting, PFP and thermal insulation on pipes, structures and mechanical items.
• Certified by an approved body such as ACQPA, FROSIO Level 3 or NACE CIP Level 3.
• Valid medical certificate complying with company standards.

Required skills

• Knowledge of international rules and standards, and preferably TOTAL's specifications (GS EP COR 350, 351, 353 and 45).
• Experience with quality assurance systems and auditing, and familiarity with national and international codes and standards.
• Good computer literacy and proficiency in Microsoft Office.
