Sales Engineer - Solar Energy Projects

About the role

Aptech Africa, an EPC company specialising in solar energy and solar water pumping, is looking for a Sales Engineer to join its team. The role covers preparing quotations and bids for solar and hybrid water projects, designing and supervising off-grid solar systems, and selling and supporting the company's products.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare quotations and bills of quantities for solar and hybrid water projects for domestic, urban, communal and industrial applications.
• Prepare bid proposals for solar and hybrid water pumping projects.
• Make field assessments for solar and water pumping projects.
• Design, install and supervise off-grid solar systems, solar street lighting and power backup systems.
• Mobilise clients and cross-sell company products and services.
• Conduct technical trainings and workshops internally and externally, as approved by management.
• Offer after-sales services such as operation, maintenance and technical support for existing and new clients.
• Handle customer complaints on a retail basis for water pumping systems.
• Ensure HSE procedures are followed and documented during assessment, design and implementation.

Required profile

• BSc in Electrical Engineering.
• 3+ years of experience in the solar energy sector.
• Ability to sell and hit set targets.
• Knowledge of all products sold within the company.
• An added advantage: a certificate in marketing and sales.
