Sales Manager / Sales Head – Agri Equipment, Generators & Pumps

About the role

A fast-growing organisation is looking for a Sales Manager / Sales Head to lead and grow its sales operations in Uganda, based on site in Kampala. The role covers agricultural and industrial products such as electric generators, petrol and diesel engines, electric pumps and motors, electric water pumps and agro-processing mills and machinery. It suits a sales leader who enjoys building teams, expanding market presence and driving business growth.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the sales team to achieve monthly and annual targets.
• Develop and implement sales strategies to expand market reach and customer base.
• Drive sales across generators, engines, agricultural machinery, pumps and motors and agro-processing equipment.
• Build relationships with distributors, dealers and key institutional clients.
• Identify new business opportunities and oversee end-to-end deal execution.
• Analyse the market to track trends, competitor activity and customer needs.
• Collaborate with management on budgets, forecasts and pricing strategies.
• Ensure good customer service and after-sales support, and mentor team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering or a related field (MBA preferred).
• 7 to 8+ years of proven experience in sales or business development.
• Mandatory experience selling agro-processing machinery, petrol or diesel engines or agricultural equipment; exposure to agriculture machinery, generators, pumps, motors, construction equipment or industrial products is also mandatory.
• Excellent leadership, communication and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently in a multicultural, fast-paced environment.
