School Nurse

About the role

The School Nurse will provide clinical care, first‑aid treatment and health promotion for students and staff at AsOne High School. The role ensures a safe, healthy learning environment by managing routine health checks, emergencies and health education.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver first aid and emergency treatment for injuries, illnesses or accidents on school premises.
• Assess, triage and manage common childhood and adolescent conditions; refer serious cases to the nearest health facility.
• Administer prescribed medication in accordance with parental consent and school policy.
• Maintain a well‑stocked sick bay/clinic with essential supplies and emergency equipment.
• Coordinate referrals, ambulance transport and communication with parents/guardians and health centres.
• Conduct routine health screenings (vision, hearing, dental, skin, nutrition) following MoH/MoES guidelines.
• Plan and deliver health education on hygiene, nutrition, reproductive health, HIV/AIDS prevention and substance abuse.
• Support immunisation, deworming and malaria‑prevention initiatives.
• Maintain confidential health records and submit regular reports to school administration and health authorities.

Required profile

• Entry‑level qualification.
• At least 24 months (2 years) of experience in school nursing or a comparable health‑care setting.
• Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with students, staff and parents.
