Second Deputy Vice Chancellor – Finance & Administration

About the role

The Second Deputy Vice Chancellor (Finance and Administration) supports the Vice‑Chancellor in leading Busitema University’s financial and administrative functions. This senior executive position oversees planning, budgeting, human resources, legal affairs, health services and ICT, ensuring the university operates efficiently and aligns with its strategic goals.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of university financial policies, budgets and audits.
• Manage human‑resource functions, including recruitment, staff development and payroll.
• Oversee legal affairs, health services, and information technology to support campus operations.
• Coordinate strategic planning and development initiatives across all academic and support units.
• Report directly to the Vice‑Chancellor and serve as a member of the senior management team.

Required profile

• Proven senior leadership experience in finance, administration or related fields, preferably within higher education.
• Strong understanding of university governance, budgeting cycles and regulatory compliance.
• Excellent analytical, decision‑making and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with senior executives, faculty and external stakeholders.
