Security Engineer - Blockchain & Web3

About the role

Asymmetric Research is a security firm focused on long-term partnerships with L1/L2 blockchains and DeFi protocols, helping teams build resilient systems and strengthen their security posture. It is seeking a Security Engineer to review and secure leading blockchain protocols and Web3 projects, working remotely with clients to harden their products.

Key responsibilities

• Design and implement security and defense-in-depth controls to prevent and limit vulnerabilities.
• Perform security research on popular blockchains and smart contract platforms.
• Develop security tooling and developer workflows to detect vulnerabilities early.
• Collaborate with core contributors on internal security audits and shepherd external audits with third-party audit firms.
• Run bug bounty programs on Immunefi, including leading, monitoring and triaging submissions.
• Communicate security risks, findings and proposed solutions clearly.

Required profile

• Prior experience with code reviews, reverse engineering, fuzzing and/or binary exploitation.
• Able to quickly absorb new information and eager to learn Rust, Golang or C-based Web3 stacks.
• High ranking on bug bounty leaderboards, code audit contests or CTF competitions (nice to have).
