Supply Chain Lead – Vaccine Distribution (Uganda)

About the role

The Vaccine Supply Chain Lead will guide ThinkWell’s technical support to Uganda’s Ministry of Health (UNEPI) in adapting and rolling out the vaccine Last‑Mile Distribution (vLMD) strategy across all 136 districts. The role combines deep vaccine logistics expertise with hands‑on team leadership and stakeholder coordination.

Key responsibilities

• Lead adaptation of the vLMD strategy to the Ugandan context and drive its nationwide roll‑out, including district‑level planning, sequencing and capacity‑building.
• Oversee mapping of all distribution points using GIS tools and develop optimized route plans to improve vaccine availability and efficiency.
• Conduct accessibility assessments, prepare route‑optimization reports and provide recommendations to UNEPI and Gavi.
• Manage and supervise ThinkWell’s district coordination and technical staff, ensuring quality and timely delivery of project outputs.
• Coordinate communication with UNEPI, district health teams, Gavi partners and other stakeholders.

Required profile

• Proven experience in vaccine or health‑commodity supply chain management, especially last‑mile distribution.
• Demonstrated ability to lead technical teams and manage multi‑district projects.
• Strong track record of working with ministries of health, donors and international partners.
