Team Leader – Child Protection

About the role

The Protection Team Leader (Child Protection) will lead and coordinate child protection activities across Imvepi and Rhino Camp refugee settlements, ensuring high‑quality, safe, and accountable services that align with humanitarian principles and DRC policies.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain effective relationships with donors, government authorities, UN agencies and NGOs; represent DRC in protection sector forums.
• Develop work plans, procurement plans and budget tracking mechanisms; ensure integration of safeguarding and child participation principles.
• Provide technical support and supervision to staff delivering case management, psychosocial support, positive parenting and adolescent life‑skills programmes.
• Oversee monitoring, evaluation and reporting, including monthly, quarterly and annual reports.
• Manage the project budget, monitor expenditures and ensure compliance with donor regulations.
• Lead staff performance management, capacity building and foster a safeguarding‑compliant working environment.

Required profile

• Minimum 5 years experience working with refugees or vulnerable communities, including case management and distribution programming.
• Bachelor’s degree in law, social sciences, development studies, guidance and counselling or related field.
• At least 2 years in a supervisory or team‑leadership role.
• Strong knowledge of child protection, protection principles and safeguarding standards.
• Excellent coordination, communication and reporting skills.
