Telecom Equipment Installer

About the role

Q-Sourcing Limited, trading as Q-Sourcing Servtec, is a manpower management firm operating across East Africa. On behalf of a client in the telecom industry, it is recruiting 100 Installers to work in Fortportal, Hoima, Gulu, Mityana, Luwero, Kabale, Lira, Masaka, Mbarara, Arua, Mbale and Jinja. The installer ensures equipment is installed safely and supports its performance.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with dispatch for daily appointments and carry materials to the customer's premises.
• Guide, coordinate and oversee fellow installers.
• Collect accessories and devices from the assigned stock pick-up point and complete tasks within the allotted time.
• Review paperwork with customers and educate them on the features and benefits of installed products.
• Upsell add-on products and test electrical equipment and systems, including routers and services.
• Maintain installation tools and equipment, and assist in removing and installing materials on site.
• Evaluate and monitor the performance and quality standards of sub-contractors.
• Submit reports of work done with daily time sheets.

Required profile

• Diploma or equivalent qualification and at least 1 year of experience in telecom or internet service provider work.
• Background in installing and maintaining outdoor units and telecommunications equipment.
• Valid motorcycle or motorcar driver's licence.
• Physical fitness; able to work in all climates, in small spaces, and at heights and off ladders.

Required skills

• Hands-on experience installing and adjusting equipment (preferred).
• Problem-solving, negotiation and advocacy skills.
• Effective oral and written communication and excellent interpersonal skills.
• Time management, attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and tight deadlines.
