Head of Finance – Montessori School

About the role

The Head of Finance will lead the financial function of Rowntree Montessori, ensuring sound financial planning, budgeting and reporting in line with the school’s mission to put children and students at the heart of everything. The role works closely with school leadership, safeguarding teams and the wider ISP community to make financially responsible decisions that support wellbeing, safety and continuous improvement.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee financial planning and budgeting.
• Manage accounting and financial reporting.
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations.
• Provide financial advice to school leadership.
• Make financial choices carefully based on the needs of children, students and the school.
• Support continuous professional development and school improvement initiatives.

Required profile

• Degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• Significant experience in financial management, preferably in an educational setting.
• Commitment to safeguarding, health & safety and the ISP values of care, respect and inclusion.

Required skills

• Strong financial management and analytical skills.
• Excellent leadership and communication abilities.
• Proficiency in financial software.
