Team Leader – Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Policy & Systems

About the role

The Team Leader will act as the central programme representative for the Women’s Integrated Sexual Health (WISH) Dividend – Policy & Systems (P&S) programme, overseeing implementation across seven African countries. Reporting to the Programme Director, the role combines strategic oversight, technical guidance and programme management to ensure high‑quality delivery of demand‑driven technical assistance.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic and technical leadership for WISH P&S across all focus countries and workstreams.
• Guide Country Leads in developing and executing annual workplans that meet budget, timeline and quality standards.
• Ensure timely completion of technical deliverables, robust financial management and achievement of payment KPIs.
• Monitor progress against logframe targets, value‑for‑money commitments and overall programme performance.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for the FCDO on programme strategy, technical direction and day‑to‑day oversight.
• Collaborate with the Regional Finance and Operations Manager and Programme Management Unit to maintain strong operational controls.

Required profile

• Proven experience leading multi‑country development programmes, preferably in sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) or policy and systems work.
• Strong understanding of government‑aligned technical assistance, policy development, financing and institutional strengthening.
• Demonstrated ability to manage complex stakeholder relationships, including donors and government partners.
• Excellent analytical, reporting and communication skills.
