Senior Project Officer - Communications

About the role

The Senior Project Officer – Communications will lead the creation of high‑quality, audience‑focused communications products that showcase the impact and lessons learned from CRS Uganda’s programmes. Working closely with project teams, partners and participants, you will package stories, visuals and learning pieces for donors and stakeholders.

Key responsibilities

• Capture high‑quality photography, videography, interviews and testimonials in the field and maintain a pipeline of human‑interest stories.
• Write, design and produce visibility materials such as fact sheets, brochures, presentations and donor‑facing marketing assets.
• Create tailored multimedia content for CRS global social media platforms and ensure compliance with graphic identity and donor branding guidelines.
• Provide hands‑on communications support for events, including signage, handouts and event media capture.
• Develop simple content‑collection tools for field staff and train partners on basic photo, video and story‑capture techniques.

Required profile

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, Marketing, Public Relations or related field.
• At least 3 years of marketing and communications experience, preferably in an NGO or development context.
• Strong written and spoken English; proficiency in Luganda or other local languages is highly desired.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and influence without direct authority.

Required skills

• Proficiency with Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Premiere Pro) or Canva for graphic design and basic video production.
• High proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and desktop‑publishing tools.
