About the role

Makerere University is looking for a full‑time Lecturer to join its Department of Accounting & Finance in Kampala. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering high‑quality teaching, supervising student research, and contributing to the department’s research and outreach agenda.

Key responsibilities

• Teach, examine and grade undergraduate and postgraduate students.
• Supervise student research projects and theses.
• Mentor junior academic staff.
• Conduct research and community outreach activities.
• Write proposals to attract funding for the department.
• Perform any other duties assigned by the Head of Department.

Required profile

• PhD in Management, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Taxation, Risk and Investment Management, or related fields.
• Alternatively, a Master’s degree in Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Investment and Risk Management, Financial Engineering, or Financial Economics.
• Or an Honours Bachelor’s degree in Commerce, Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Risk Modelling, Financial Engineering, or Investment Management.
• Applicants must be 55 years of age or younger at the time of application.
